Australia–Saudi Arabia Strengthen Mining and Resources Collaboration

Senior representatives from Australia and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia gathered in Sydney on Monday evening to discuss expanding collaboration in the mining, resources, and industrial development sectors.

The dinner brought together key officials from both countries, including His Excellency Khalid Almudaifer, Vice Minister of Mining of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and Mr. Abdulrahman AlBelushi, Deputy Minister of Resources Management, who are visiting Australia as part of the International Mining and Resources Conference (IMARC).

Also in attendance were Senator The Hon. Anthony Chisholm, Assistant Minister for Resources, His Excellency Sultan Bin Khuzaim, Saudi Ambassador to Australia, and Mr. Atif AlOthri, Saudi Commercial Attaché, highlighting the growing partnership between the two nations.

Discussions during the evening focused on advancing investment cooperation, fostering joint ventures, and leveraging innovation and technology to support sustainable resource development. Both sides shared insights into evolving global opportunities in mining and industrial transformation, reflecting a mutual interest in building long-term, strategic collaboration.

Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 featured prominently in the discussions, emphasizing the Kingdom’s ambition to diversify its economy and expand international partnerships. Australia’s expertise in mining, resource management, and education was acknowledged as a valuable contributor to this ongoing transformation.
